PRAXIS is a community of people dedicated to grappling with hard questions of faith and life in order that we might bring the Kingdom of God to earth in a real, tangible ways – just like all churches. However, many of us have mixed feelings about the institutional church and do not want that to get in our way of our faith. We are really passionate about Jesus and figuring out how to be better disciples together. We want to build an alternative way of being “church” in the 21st century. We may do things differently but we follow the same Spirit that calls us to a life of saving grace in Jesus. We are proudly a part of First Presbyterian Church in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. This gathering is a response to the fact that not everyone feels comfortable worshipping in a formal environment. Our worship includes music led by The Fold, our dynamic praise band, a conversational message led by Pastor Matt that gets us involved in "working through" the Bible passage for the morning, and sharing prayers concerns and celebrations. We may watch a video, dissect a popular song, participate in hands-on mission, celebrate baptisms and communion, or spend time with ancient Christian rituals. Come dressed casually to this warm, friendly environment as we relax, worship, and encounter God each week! |
